Winter warmer: veggie casserole and dumplings!

Linda and I have been 'nearly vegetarians' for thirty-plus years (we do very occasionally eat the odd prawn or crab!) I'm fortunate enough to have once owned a hotel and am a trained chef, so a meat-free cuisine isn't a problem: we eat really well and healthily. Tonight's vegetable casserole included leeks, onions, celery, turnips, swedes, potatoes and carrots, topped off with veggie suet dumplings.
