It must mean something that I've only just seen my first Spotted Flycatcher of the year, having already seen a Spotted Sandpiper!
Peter e-mailed me with the (nearby) location of a family group of these delightful little birds: within half an hour we were enjoying terrific views of them catching flies and feeding them to a well-grown young bird. Lots of other nice bits and pieces nearby, best of which was a chunky Mistle Thrush.
