A sunny session in the Brecks: dips all day!

A new meteorite customer passed on a site for Goshawks, so with little new on the North Coast, Brian and I decided to investigate. Since we were too early arriving, we started the day at Santon Downham: the 'secret' LSW site is now pre-bookings only: there were crowds at 8.30 as if there was a rare nearctic to be had! So, after grabbing a few images of Buzzards and Redpolls, we moved off to the new Goshawk site. Needless to say we didn't see one, nor any Crossbills either - just a beautiful male Brambling. more Redpolls and some Siskins.

Last stop was a little village on the edge of the King's Forest that used to be idiot-proof for Tree Sparrows: not today! I think I grabbed a blurry snap on arrival, as well as a few apparent hybrid birds, but the usual nest sites were occupied by House Sparrows.
