Last day in Sussex: Pulborough, Peacehaven and Barn Owls!

Back home! Fish tank to 'valet', e-mails to answer, Linda's birthday on Wednesday and a 'show' in Cambridge on Saturday: it's going to be a busy few days!

Linda's brother Barry came up from Plymouth to pick up Mum-in-Law, leaving us with a day to relax before the journey back to Norfolk. We spent the morning at Pulborough Brooks: despite the weekend crowds, it's a lovely place with loads of 'everyday' birds: Kites, Buzzards, Chiffchaffs and Stonechats being noteworthy. After lunch (a really decent veggie sausage 'bap') we drove eastward to visit old friend Jason. Lots of reminiscing and laughs with him, partner Jane and son Thomas. A cup of tea and a scone at Newhaven Garden Centre, then back to Findon to pack for a mid-evening departure. (There was just time to stand in the cattle-yard at the farm and watch two - perhaps three - Barn Owls leave their roost for a hunting expedition)
