Since the window of decent weather was quite limited, Norman, Brian and I met at a reserve in the Bure Valley for an enjoyable - and surprisingly productive - walk in the sunshine.
First photo op. was a noisy (but typically skulking) Grasshopper Warbler: it flew just feet in front of us several times, but none of us managed any decent images (Although Norman's were pretty good!)
Other birds we came across included Little Egret, Bittern, Hobby and all the expected warblers, while among the clouds of Large Red Damselflies were a few blues: including, I reckon, a Variable Blue.
