Frogmella!

While clearing out the pond pump today, I was delighted to discover a largish adult Common Frog enjoying the cascade. I didn't disturb him and he remained most of the afternoon. In the past, frogs, toads and smooth newts all bred in the small pond, but our remaining carp is now so large that tadpoles wouldn't stand a chance...

Meanwhile, Linda's planting program hasn't just benefitted her two hives: the garden is full of bees of several species. The most abundant are the Bumble Bees, of which she's identified half a dozen species.
