Linda and I grabbed a cup of tea and a bit of toast and were out of the front door by 6.30am: by 7.00 we were enjoying excellent (if a little distant) views of a dapper Lesser Grey Shrike. Since we'd arrived ahead of the crowd, we were able to park in one of the few 'legal' spots at the start of the Nelson's Head track: when we reached the reported clump of bushes there were only three other people present. However, as we were leaving an hour later, people were swarming up the path... Great views of a Hobby, both in flight and perched, as well as Lesser Whitethroat and (on the way home) a local pair of Turtle Doves.
