Breckland birds: just so special!

I made a very early start down to the Brecks, hoping to use the recent relaxation  of lockdown to catch up with some of my favourite species. A large clearing near Grimes Graves gave me some excellent views of Woodlarks, as well as my best-ever photos of a Garden Warbler. No Tree (or Meadow!) Pipit unfortunately.

A move to Santon Downham added Mandarin Duck to the year list, as well as good views of Great Spotted Woodpecker, Grey Wagtail and Otter.

I drove home via Watton, stopping briefly to drink my flask of tea at the 'Goshawk Layby': most unexpected bird of the day was a Common Crane that drifted over being mobbed by Lesser Black-backs
