Someone likes the heat!

Working in the garden has very much been 'fits and starts' for the last couple of days: mulching, dead-heading, edging etc have been carried out in twenty minute 'bites'. Despite the heat and humidity, however (or perhaps because of it!) there have been lots of butterflies and dragonflies visiting us. These have all been from just a handful of species, but there have been clouds of Small Whites and Tortoiseshells, as well as a dozen or more Migrant Hawkers. Amusing to watch the regularity with which our resident Grey Squirrels come to the various water features!

Don't forget to look out for the Perseids tonight if it's clear where you are!
