Sad to hear that Gene Cernan passed away today.
I met Capt. Cernan on five occasions, enjoying 'beer call' several times. Commander of Apollo 17 and officially the last human to walk on the Moon, I found Cernan an astute, humorous companion who did not suffer fools gladly.
Just five 'Moonwalkers' left: I'm so glad I had the chance to talk with most of them before they finally 'slipped the surly bonds'
