Brian and I grabbed the chance for a morning in the Brecks, starting at Linford Arboretum. No Hawfinches or Crossbills, but lots of Redwings and Nuthatches. From there we moved the short distance to Santon Warren: again - lots of Redwings, but no Great Grey Shrike :(
Santon Downham was slightly better, with four Mandarins on the river and a huge (300+) flock of very timid Bramblings.
