Red-rumped Swallow at Cley

With Linda being away for a couple of days, and having finished all my meteorite-related jobs, I had a spare hour to tazz up to Cley through the driving rain on the off chance that yesterday's Red-rumped Swallow had hung around. It had! I arrived at the East Bank car park at 10.15 to find just two cars and one other birder, and yet the Swallow was hawking backwards and forwards overhead and along the conifers on the other side of the road. The light was appalling for photography and the persistent rain didn't help, but it was a welcome (if somewhat tatty!) bird and a terrific addition to the year list.
