Beautiful gibbous Moon

The Moon is particularly beautiful tonight: it's a couple of days off full, so that the well-structured craters Plato, Copernicus and Tycho are very obvious. Plato is the dark-floored crater towards the north pole: just to the right of it you can make out the Alpine Valley, an oblique scar that might be either a fault or a meteorite impact.
