A beautiful (if somewhat watery) full Moon is hanging over the western horizon as I type! At this time of year the frosty skies are full of bright stars: over to the north-east is the incredibly bright blue-white Vega, while to the south-east is the red giant star Arcturus, the fourth brightest star in the northern sky. Just above the eastern horizon, Mars and Mercury rise shortly before the Sun...
