I seem to have a knack for finding Cattle Egrets in Broadland: the one I discovered at Halvergate today was my fourth! Earlier, Linda and I made our fortnightly run to Potter Heigham to stock up with bird food before Christmas (it's very cheap at Ken Latham's!) On the way there we stopped by the well-known barn near Acle Bridge to scan the fields for Common Cranes. After a brief search we located a family group of two adults and a juvenile, which were eventually joined by five or six more that flew in over the distant woodland.
