Just before dusk last night, friends Jenny, Garth and Paul picked me up for another Cricket Safari at Reedham. Here, on the banks of the Yare, can be found what is probably one of the northern-most colonies of the Great Green Bush Cricket: one of our largest insects.
The crickets reveal their location by their loud churring: unfortunately a combination of age and too much loud music prevent Garth and me from hearing them. Luckily Jenny is much younger and quickly located a male. I've never seen a female, so was delighted to find one by sight!
