As in: 52!
Following a walk around Cley Reserve, which produced a few Black-tailed Godwits, a Bittern, a Gannet and some distant Spoonbills, Brian and I drove the short distance to Stiffkey Fen, parking by the flint barn and walking down the somewhat overgrown path to the access point by the bridge. The vegetation along the path was generally too high for views of the Fen, but the raised sea wall allowed us to enjoyf fifty two Spoonbills, as well as half a dozen Little Egrets and one - perhaps two - Great White Egrets.
Back to Cley for tea and scones, before driving home: a most enjoyable short session, apart from the unaccountable rude behavior of a middle-aged couple in Dawkes Hide, who seemed to think it acceptable to spread their gear over every seat and ledge and then become abusive when asked politely if it was OK for us to sit down!
