Saturn, Jupiter and the Moon

Even with a smallish lens (300mm prime)  birdwatching gear can produce some pleasing astronomical images. Around midnight the two largest planets in the Solar System are conveniently placed low in the south west. These pictures were taken using the astrotracer mode on my Pentax DSLR mounted on a tripod, allowing a five second exposure.
