Slavonian Grebe at Whitlingham Lane

Once I'd taken care of a brief rush of meteorite business (and some cash & carry purchasing!) I drove the few miles to the Whitlingham Lane leisure complex. As I was leaving the car park I met a well-known local blogger coming the other way: naturally I enquired if the long-staying Slavonian Grebe was still present.
"Nah, mate: must've cleared off last night!" he replied.
This surprised me, because it was featured on RBA an hour or so earlier. I decided to carry on round to the observation screen, where I met old acquaintance 'Strumpshaw Tony', who was happy to point out the delightful visitor as it fed on Caddis Fly larvae (?) just a few yards away...
