Christmas day birding

After a scrummy breakfast of poached eggs with Hollandaise on sourdough toast, Linda and I decided on a local walk. Despite the gloomy skies and threat of rain we had a terrific time, firstly at Ranworth and then Filby.

Nothing new or rare at Ranworth, but Siskins, Redpolls, Nuthatches, Marsh Tits are always good to see, while several Goldeneye were the closest ducks at Filby: four males and three females.

Back home to relax and cook Christmas supper: sweet potato pithiviers with a port and red wine reduction.
