Shorelarks at Holkham - and lots of other decent birds!

The weather at 7.00am was the complete opposite of the Beeb's gloomy forecast, so Linda and I headed northwards to Holkham for a stroll along the beach and a look at the Shorelarks. Since we'd arrived well ahead of the customary hordes of dog-walkers, we were able to enjoy good views - without entering the fenced off area! 21 Larks were joined by 50+ very flighty Snow Buntings - they were on the beach and were continually being driven off by dogs, unfortunately. A really talented pair of young artists were painting the Pink-feet from the Lady Anne's Car Park..
Other good birds today included a Red Kite right by the road near Warham and several smart Red-breasted Mergansers and a female Goosander at Wells Quay.
