Strumpshaw Fen: Great Whites, Beardies and a Ring Ouzel!

A terrific little session at the Fen this morning: all the regulars were there, plus some charming visitors from Cornwall. For once there was plenty to see, including two Great White Egrets that moved from hide to hide: one actually settled in front of Fen Hide, which is unusual. A pair of Sparrowhawks dashed backwards and forwards, while a flock of 10+ Bearded Tits appeared in their usual spot at the usual time! Several Kingfishers flew past without stopping (for me, at least!) while bird of the day (although not picture of the day!) was a female Ring Ouzel that Norman and I 'kicked up' along the riverside path: it flew chacking off into the bushes before we got proper shots, but the close views on the path were the best I've had at Strumpshaw.
