Four planets in the Christmas sky!

If it's clear at sunset where you live, and if you have an uninterrupted southern horizon, it's worth looking out for a four-planet conjunction over the next few nights. Leading up to the new year, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and Mercury will be strung out like pearls on a necklace: Mercury will move closer and closer to Venus until it sits just beneath it on December 28th, making it easier than usual to pick out in the gloaming. If you're very lucky, you might still be able to find Comet Leonard between Saturn and the Horizon...
