A dozen chopped up apples always draws in the winter thrushes at this time of year: today it was Redwings that took over the lawn and flowerbeds! Yesterday there were several large flocks of Fieldfares on the cotoneaster, which were always behind the palm tree and out of camera 'sight'.

Hi David, I love your photos of the Redwing . What areas are they most likely to be found? I have just been told about your site via my friend Carl Horrocks. Name dropping here of course.
Redwings can be found in parks and gardens throughout the winter period - particularly if there's food for them! We put out cheap cooking apples and they just sort of arrive!
