This morning I trudged around Upton Fen and Marsh hoping to see one of the recently-reported Short-eared Owls: no luck, just a Buzzard and a Little Egret.
I decided to drive the few miles to Horsey to look for the cranes: again, no luck, but massive compensation in the form of a close fly-past by a decent flock of White-fronted Geese south of the mill and some of my best ever views of a small group of Tundra Bean Geese right by Waxham Barns.
