Having walked around a virtually birdless Strumpshaw Fen with Brian and Norman (just a subliminal Kingfisher and a few Marsh Harriers) I said my goodbyes after just a couple of hours. Since it was still early, I stopped off at a well-known location further along the valley, where I quickly found a beautiful Peregrine perched on a chimney stack. Fingers crossed that this resident pair nest successfully this year.
