It pays to keep your eyes open!

Living, as I do, in East Anglia I'm surrounded by fascinating prehistoric sites: the Neolithic flint mines at Grimes Graves, the Palaeolithic footprints and settlements at Happisburgh and the Bronze Age mere village at Flag Fen being especially noteworthy.

It's perhaps surprising to some people how frequently you can come across authentic tools and weapons dropped thousands of years ago by our ancient ancestors. I found all of those in the photos while out birding: some were lying out in the open, some were half buried. I've actually collected far more than this, but have passed the majority on to various researchers.
