Savi's Warbler at Thorpe Marshes

Having just finished breakfast, a glance at the pager revealed a singing Savi's had been seen and heard at Thorpe Marshes, just east of Norwich: I couldn't resist!

Fifteen minutes later I joined a small group (including acquaintances Richard, James and Justin among others!) and waited patiently for ten minutes. After a few tentative 'reels', the Savi's appeared somewhat distantly at the top of some reeds, allowing telescope views and some dodgy photography! All the usual reedbed birds were present, as well as a pair of flirty Cuckoos!

On the way home I stopped off at the Lakeside Cafe at the Broadland business park and enjoyed great views of a mating and egg-laying pair of Emperor Dragonflies: carrying on to Strumpshaw, a walk past the Dr's Cottage added Swallowtail to the daily total!
