Back from West Sussex

Linda and I enjoyed a few days in Findon, Sussex, meeting up - at long last - with her delightful Mum, brother and sister-in-law. We'd rented a cottage on a farm that enjoyed spectacular views over the South Downs, but the weather prevented us from finding most of the wildlife targets we'd set: hardly any butterflies or odonatids at all.

Still: trips out to Petworth, Arundel and Pulborough Brooks provided a few wildlife highlights, while the farm itself held good numbers of the expected species as well as some very tame hares and rabbits!

I suppose the 'best' bird we saw was a White-tailed Eagle (from the I-o-W) which we saw twice: at Petworth and, much closer but with no camera, at Findon
