As you may recall, Linda is one of the volunteers at Norwich Cathedral's exhibition of the Natural History Museum's famous Diplodocus skeleton. After an early breakfast, we joined a small queue so that I could enjoy renewing acquaintances with one of the earliest memories of my childhood: I must have only been four or five the first time I encountered 'Dippy' at South Kensington. (Incidentally: the name 'Diplodocus' means 'two beams'. and is a reference to the pairs of stiffening rods under the caudal vertebrae.)
To coincide with the exhibition, Norwich has installed twenty or so very life-like Tyrannosaur sculptures around the city, each decorated by a local artist. Today we viewed over half of them: pictures tomorrow!
