The Lackford Roller: second helpings!

Linda and I have been enjoying a few days away in West Sussex: our first holiday since the C-19 pandemic started last year. We rented a beautiful cottage on a farm north of Worthing, being joined by Linda's Mum, Brother and his partner. Some great times (photos to follow) but the weather was too cold and damp for butterflies or birds - although we did see a White-tailed Eagle on two occasions!

As a treat, therefore, we made a short detour on the way home to enjoy closer views of the long-staying Roller by the side of the A1101 near Lackford. We arrived very early, when the sky was still cloudless and bright: even when we left at 7.00 only a handful of other birders had arrived.
