A walk around Strumpshaw with Brian was singularly unproductive: just a Chinese Water Deer and a few Redwings, so we decided to move to Buckenham to see if the Beans were any nearer to the path.
On the way down to the hide we came across a delightful group of Lesser Redpolls, one of which was really frosty with a near-white rump. By the hide a pair and a half of Stonechats were flitting about: one of the males seemed to lack a tail!
The usual Peregrine sat on a gate, while in the distance a largish group of geese included Pink-footed, White-fronted and just a few Beans.
Last good birds were a pair of Little Egrets and a Red Kite that was mobbed out of the rail-side woods by corvids.
