Wednesday is generally scheduled as a day out for Brian & me, so, given the online info services reported a pair of Waxwings at Santon Downham all day, we were down at St Helen's Well before 8.00am.
Imagine our delight when we met local birders who told us that the pair had flown off at eight the previous day and not returned by dusk... We did, however, see the bush they had been in!
With no sign of the Shrike, and absolutely zip at Linford, the only things flying were loads of F15s and a few Hercs.
