Now and again I manage to read the wing tag of a Marsh Harrier and submit the data to the Hawk & Owl Trust: very kindly they always come back with details of where the bird was fledged / tagged etc.
I noticed that a fair percentage of the fifty or so Med Gulls on the beach at Yarmouth are ringed: mostly with a combination of silver and a coloured rings. Can anyone help with information about where these individuals might have originated?
I remember 'back in the old days' when Folkestone (and Boulogne!) were the places to see these beautiful gulls: now they seem to turn up more or less anywhere!
