Birdlife at Houghton Hall

While we were walking around the gardens and estate at Houghton Hall we were continually entertained by the wildlife: butterflies, bees and birds were everywhere - the former attracted by the beautiful flower beds, the latter by the former!

Large groups of Swifts and Hirundines continually passed overhead: Swallows frequently dropped down to hawk over the various water features, unfortunately too rapidly for me to photograph.

Red Kites and Buzzards could be seen and heard throughout our visit, but star bird was a probable Honey Buzzard that distantly soared high above the parkland.
