Comet Neowise and a sky full of wonders!

At last: a comet that didn't sublimate as it swung around the Sun! I snatched an hour's sleep, then drove to the top of the Heath at midnight. The most obvious objects over in the south were the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn, tucked together along the ecliptic. (Later in the morning they were joined by Mars, Venus and the ISS!)

Frustratingly bands of cloud drifted slowly eastwards, occasionally obscuring Capella and all the other stars in Auriga. Just when I thought I was going to be out of luck, Neowise finally appeared shortly before the sky grew too bright for photography!

Well worth another look over the next few days: watch this space!
