Following a couple of cloudy pre-dawns, last night the overcast rolled away to reveal that Neowise had visibly brightened and lengthened.
Having delivered a two-hour 'Zoom' talk on meteorites for an online community called 'Stargazers Lounge' (which ended at 9.00pm) I only had to wait two more before this beautiful comet cleared the last of the cloud banks. I tried every combination of ISO, f-stop and exposure time in an effort to catch the comet's second, faint ion tail, but without a slow motion equatorial mount, too long an exposure just produced blurred images. Likewise (as most of you will know) too high an ISO gives a grainy result. Still: these are my best from last night, and I don't reckon they're too bad!
