The number of Redwings in our small village has risen to well over a hundred birds in two separate flocks. One of these spends much of its time roosting in our large sycamore, from where the birds can drop down into the Tree Cotoneaster. All good things must come to an end, however, and there are hardly any berries left! We had been hoping that the bright red fruit might attract a Waxwing or two, but that possibility has gone for another winter.
The first Buzzard of the year finally made its way onto the list: with this year's lockdown (and the virus itself) being more severe, these local birds take on greater significance...
