The regular get-together at Strumpshaw today was enlivened by terrific views of several flocks of Bearded Tits: from Fen Hide, the path leading up to it, Sandy Path and Riverside all held good groups. I'd estimate there were over fifty in total.
Other birds included a wisp of Snipe, a Sparrowhawk, a Green Sandpiper and a decent assembly of winter duck in front of Tower Hide. By the entrance gate a somewhat faded Willow Emerald Damselfly sunbathed on the ivy...
