Shine on harvest Moon....

The Moon was full  on the 5th and rose in the early evening as the classic 'Harvest Moon': beautiful, but not great for looking at surface features (apart from the 'seas': actually huge basalt-filled impact structures)

Tonight, however craters on the terminator (the edge of the shadowed region) showed particularly well. Interesting to recall that back in the fifties two famous British astronomers (Harold Wilkins and Patrick Moore) claimed to have located a huge - possibly artificial - bridge across a bay of the Mare Crisium...
