Black Redstart and Iceland Gull at Cley - but no Waxwing

I think Brian and I both suspected that waiting for a sunny day might have meant missing the long-staying Waxwing that has graced Sue and Steve Gantlett's garden: and so it proved! Nevertheless, we enjoyed our morning at Cley, walking over six miles and adding a number of year ticks to the list.

Best of these was certainly the cute female / 1w male Black Redstart that flitted from roof to roof along Anterton Road, but a flock of thirteen Snow Buntings and the ever-present Iceland Gull were also most welcome.

Last notable birds were totally unexpected: a group of half a dozen Bearded Tits by the East Bank.

Nice to chat yesterday with you and Brian. We missed the bearded tits but probably caught everything else you’ve mentioned. Lovely day on the coast. John Ford
