I was on my way through Ludham when I thought I'd pop down to the ruins of St Benet's Abbey to see if there were any wild swans lingering on the marshes: there were! In addition to a small herd of Bewick's Swans on the ground, two other parties flew around without landing. No raptors (other than Marsh Harriers and Kestrels) and no owls: however, it was pleasant to chat with three other birders and enjoy the most photographed ruin in Norfolk...
Nearby a trio of Common Cranes flew over the car: luckily I was approaching a layby, so managed a few shots.
