Back again: our resident female Sparrowhawk!

Yesterday our friends and neighbours Peter and Sue sent us photos they'd taken of 'our' female Sparrowhawk sitting on the birdbath of the garden that divides theirs from ours: this morning, just as we were getting ready to leave home to attend the Kelling Heath Astronomy event (details later, I'm afraid!) this beautiful raptor appeared on her usual Oak tree. She eyed up a Wood Pigeon on our roof for a good five minutes before suddenly swooping into the attack. The pigeon carried out a very competent evasive action and escaped!
